Beautiful metal tableware created using traditional techniques

Formed by 400 years of tradition, the town of Takaoka in Toyama Prefecture has a concentration of artisans, craftsmen, workshops and factories with advanced casting skills and technologies. Harnessing the town's history and developing its traditions, craftsmen have broken new ground in coloring techniques, resulting in one-of-a-kind colors and textures evident in their products with an artistic depth and flavor. Fine-tuning traditional coloring techniques, they have succeeded in applying color to copper plating measuring less than 1 millimeter in thickness which has been impossible until now.
