About Kaya fabric
Kaya is a traditional product of historic Nara. It has a coarse texture which easily lets air through. To let air pass through, its threads are woven with wide spaces in between, making it an extremely light and supple fabric. The more you wash it, the softer it becomes.
When the "glue" used in the weaving process melts away, the fibers of each thread expand and the natural softness of cotton emerges. Moreover, when the fine fibers intertwine, the fabric becomes soft, light, and airy.
This makes it feel even more comfortable on the skin, making it an ideal fabric for children and those with sensitive skin.
