A new expression with an illustration of Seigaiha, or blue waves, as the motif with wishes for a peaceful life. Wave patterns were used in women’s clothes during the Tumulus period as well as twelve-layered ceremonial Junihitoe kimono and short-sleeved kimono during the Heian era. The pattern in this work is a new interpretation of the blue waves that has been created through modern graphic design, and the image is painted by hand by seasoned craftsmen.
