MC does it again

Ordered the padded one but wanted another one for the warmer seasons and this one is on point! Well crafted and fits great over my other items! Another fantastic purchase from MasterCraftsmanship and always arrives two days after shipping!

Good Quality. Just be aware of the Oversized Fit

Overall this is a great item. After a few washes and several weeks of wear, there is no fraying in the stitching. The texture adds to the patch-work style. I'm 6' and 150lbs and the XL fits perfectly lengthwise, almost mid-thigh. Because I'm a skinny guy, I wish this is smaller width-wise, but this is extreme nitpicking by me for a specific look. This is sized as an actual hanten, which are supposed to be worn over a kimono like a sort of a coat, thus it is sized perfectly for its purpose. So if you are of average weight, it would probably fit well as an oversize style coat. Easily works with layers underneath.

One more note in regards to washing. Gentle cycle with cold water (under 40C) in a net is suggested on the tag. Either immediately hang dry or just simply iron to get rid of the wrinkles from washing. No drying machines.

Amazing lightweight Kimono

Exactly what I was after an more. Good lightweight Kimono! I am 178cm and about 72kg and the XL fits nicely (that is of course if the oversized look is what you are after, which is basically a kimono to start with). Build quality is 👌🏼 Really happy!

A Jacket that Calms the Soul

High quality and comfortable. My favorite part of waking up is throwing this on before making coffee and starting my morning routine. It's also amazing to lounge in with some sweat pants. It's flowy and calming to wear (maybe it's that patchwork of blue colors). I highly recommend this piece!

Mainly found in Fukuoka Prefecture, kurume ori traces its roots to the Edo Period, and is still beloved today.
A traditional woven fabric, it features a variety of patterns made by utilizing various techniques to weave evenly dyed yarn.

The technical difficulty of Kurume Ori(weave) lies in its fine weaving technique using multiple pieces of yarn. Its unique look and feel is the result of meticulously adjusting the way the warp and weft threads are woven. Fabric woven from nep yarn which deliberately shows the unevenness of the yarn is one such technique. With a tasteful finish, this time-honored technique of intentionally showing the fabric's unevenness expresses simplicity and traditional Japanese beauty. The colors of the warp and weft threads are also combined to create shades of light and dark, resulting in a sense of depth throughout the fabric.
It is precisely through the expertise of skilled craftsmen that this traditional Japanese aesthetic can be expressed.
