Samue Set - Kimono Style

$185.00

Embodies the Japanese aesthetics of zen and wabi-sabi
Designed with a slightly roomy fit for easy movement, it can be worn comfortably in all four seasons. Whether you're lounging at home or mixing and matching this traditional wear with modern clothing, make a fashion statement that's uniquely yours.

The fabric is made of yarn with fine knots called Nep. When woven, the resulting fabric has an uneven thickness. With a tasteful finish, this time-honored technique of intentionally showing the fabric's unevenness expresses simplicity and traditional Japanese beauty. The colors of the warp and weft threads are also combined to create shades of light and dark, resulting in a sense of depth throughout the fabric.

Comfy and accurately sized! I'll be ordering from here again in the future, definitely more of these at the very least!

Replaced the tracksuit for favorite relaxed casual wear.

The samue is well-made, and sized a little small. The ties allow for a relaxed, custom fit. Would order again

Asked if it would fit my height and weight. Assured it would and of course it was too small

Happy to finally own a REAL Kimono!

I just love to wear it everywhere at home. It is very comfortable and just pleasing on the skin. Master Craftmanship was recommended to me by a Youtube Channel that tried to reproduce the katana moves from Ghost of Tsushima by the real life actor of Jin Sakai. To be honest, I sometimes feel like a Samurai myself, when wearing this pretty piece. I can clearly feel that it was made by people who know what they were doing and the price is justified by the quality.

Mainly found in Fukuoka Prefecture, kurume ori traces its roots to the Edo Period, and is still beloved today.
A traditional woven fabric, it features a variety of patterns made by utilizing various techniques to weave evenly dyed yarn.

The technical difficulty of Kurume Ori(weave) lies in its fine weaving technique using multiple pieces of yarn. Its unique look and feel is the result of meticulously adjusting the way the warp and weft threads are woven. Fabric woven from nep yarn which deliberately shows the unevenness of the yarn is one such technique. With a tasteful finish, this time-honored technique of intentionally showing the fabric's unevenness expresses simplicity and traditional Japanese beauty. The colors of the warp and weft threads are also combined to create shades of light and dark, resulting in a sense of depth throughout the fabric.
It is precisely through the expertise of skilled craftsmen that this traditional Japanese aesthetic can be expressed.
